With Camp Nano this month, I am trying to focus my efforts on actually finishing this book for you guys. These characters are alive and well in the hashtag games, and they seem random outside of their book. I hope you will love reading about them, identify with them, and claim your favorites too! But in order for you to read it, I need to finish editing it and take the next step from chatty sometimes writer to querying author.
You might have seen my posts about my writing progress, between lunchtime edits, and catch up needs. It will take more work to get the big goal of 50k by May. That’s most of the book there, plus or minus another 20,000 words. That would be it, the first book of Red Letters actually ready. A dream of over 8 years finally in reach with an accountable motivation pushing me too. Except, to focus on the work, to make my 2,000 words a day, while working and trying to survive… something needs to be swapped on the priority ladder.
Instead of spending the better part of 2 days on these music posts, along with playing the #WIPTunes game on Twitter, I plan on recapping the music here. Just like I do at month’s end, but in an easier to listen to fashion. Still amazing music that I don’t own rights to, but hey, you still get to know my writing and me, plus get insider info on the book playlists.
What can I say? Call me inspired by #CharactersTell host @m_arbanassi (on Twitter) Manuel Arbanassi self-publishing Tiogair this month. It’s beyond time Red Letters joined the To Be Read pile party of others. I can’t wait to see all the pictures related to my books, and don’t doubt it, I will take you all along with me on this journey. Hope you forgive the priority focus until I have better news for you all…
For now, first-week word count is 6,327
and now, the music!

1- Tweet’s favorite song? Oh, she has too many, but she does come back to this one a few times over the years… maybe the lyrics to Just The Girl by the Click Five hit close to home?
2- Antag theme song has to be Copacabana by Barry Manilow… sorta parallels her story, except the song is cheerier.
3- writing process- Bad Enough For You by All Time Low fits, as my WIPs tend to be push/pull relationships really. We get to know each other, we fight/go rogue, even find love along the way. I mean who else loves to hate the WIP bugging you IRL?
4- Only because it’s on the radio a lot and does nothing for me (don’t generally despise #music, just don’t listen twice) half the time if I flip to it, I think it’s a commercial with the talky rap part of Lights Down Low by MAX and gnash
5- Oh, we’re oldies girls in this respect. Beatles, Donna Summer, plenty we know the chorus of, but I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor is one we remember all the words to, and doesn’t yet fit in the book…
Stay Tuned!
