All Girl Music Monday

Now that Nano Camp is over, and the suddenly warm weather has made me a bit more sluggish and flighty, I needed motivation.

What’s the best way to motivate oneself to stay the course, even if it’s 3 paragraphs a night? For me, that is always going to be music. So, this week I’m going to share all girl groups because if they can do it, so can I!

Honestly forgot how much I loved certain songs, like Suzy Quatro’s The Wild One. One of the downsides of too much music sadly. There’s just too much to listen to, and inevitably something slips from the jukebox brain, due to lack of use…

First up is an underrated group, even if they could be described as one of the first female alt-rock groups.

Ace of Cups- Music

And of course, there’s always more, but maybe I will have to make a nice long month out of this playlist? Time will tell, and I do have more…

Next is a group from the 70s, who toured with the Kinks at one point.

Fine Talking Man by Birtha.

How about a garage girl band? The Continental Co-ets

They were formed in the early 60′s, not making the 5-year marker, but they are in the Iowa Hall Of Fame!

A double feature playlist with Let’s Live For The Present and Ebb Tide.

How can we not have Fanny on a list like this?

The 3rd girl group signed to a major label, with 2 top 40 hits… One member is Suzi Quatro’s sister… Oh, and David Bowe was a fan of their’s… Yeah, that’s impressive right there.

Charity Ball of the same-titled record in 1971

How about a band with multiple movie references? Either mentioned or having their song play, even having their brand worn by a Ramone?

For that, we have to go with the Lunachicks, and Say What You Mean.

See you next week guys! Until then, enjoy the exploration of music to motivate yourselves. I think I have enough to finish this chapter now…
