Music Monday Character Theme

Last week I had the idea to share some songs that pertain to my characters. To start it off easy, let’s go with my ”One Hit Wonders!” The characters that have only one theme song or song that instantly makes them pop up in my brain. After they finish the boogie to the beat, they tend to ask what I rang for, and we write many a strange thing together.

First, we have Deej-

Soul’s resident Catman, known for his furry sidekick and tendency to get into trouble, even when helping. Also constantly banned from playing inside the jukebox, but that never stops Deej! I can not tell you how many times he’s ruined hearing this song on the radio… from the very first glass shatter, I already hear the “I didn’t do it” echoing in my head…

You may be right- Billy Joel

Next up we have Nira

Tweety’s best friend, even before the bar life, Nira is like a brother to her. They are great together as complementary partners in the sense that Tweety is friendly and full of common sense, while Nira is your oddly aloof genius. While this song is not perfectly perfect for Nira, it does always make me stop and think about him when I hear it.

Crazy=Genius – Panic! At The Disco

Not to be outdone, we have to go to Nira’s thing. No one is sure whether Bebe is a girlfriend or a different kind of buddy. Certainly, he seems to be a good lightning rod for her energy, at least some of the time. Bebe may be a bouncer, but she is probably the worst of the Trouble girls. Malta may be clumsy and hard to understand, Tweety may be the flirty thing, but Bebe is your action lass. Your instigator. The one who puts on a show by being the life of the party, and the story that people won’t believe the next day too.

Is it any wonder why Pink- Trouble reminds me of her?

Speaking of Malta…

The wee Cockney generally makes me want to watch the movie “Cockneys vs Zombies“ a lot, but beyond that… Well, she’s another ball of energy, this one loves to dance. Even with klepto tendencies, Malta is a positive, spunky person. She’ll tell you where to go, then be nicer to you.

So of course Monty Python comes to mind. Always look on the bright side of life

And you can’t have Malta without Frost…

The giant Scot in his kilt. The man best known for constantly booming “Lass!” in a crowded room that stops every one of the Trouble gals in their tracks. A bloke with a big heart and rough disposition. He may not be a pop music sort, can’t understand why the lasses dance to the garbage they do, but give him a rough beat and a good mood? Who knows… miracles happen.
