Music Monday Theme Songs pt.2

Still going strong with my idea to share some songs that pertain to my characters. ”One Hit Wonders!” edition still in affect.

These characters have only one theme song or song that instantly makes them pop up in my brain in that stage of their journey. After they finish the boogie to the beat, they tend to ask what I rang for, and we write many a strange thing together.

Before I start, I should mention that more often than not, there are deeper or darker songs that could better speak to the points I make here, but that doesn’t work for me. I need background radio music, and something different can distract me. Sometimes that’s good, but knowing myself and my sometimes issues, sometimes that can be an unexpected trigger. One minute your writing along quite well, the next is a form of depressive unmotivated wave. Considering I can do that just fine on my own, I leave those songs that can trigger me for the scenes I want to be triggered for the emotional response or mindset…

Sly has to be up first. He has three stages to his story, so he will have three songs.

When Sly meets the larger group as a whole, it comes at a time when Gus had a quiet thing going on. So that many people overnight without a reason the logical Sly can see? 100%

And as a symbol for the friendship that grows between the main character Tweety and Sly, who grow on many many discussions, from books to music… Their favorite band to discuss is

The Beatles- Yesterday

And finally… When Sly becomes a trusted group member, on par with the MC skill level, with respect and a sense of full self coming out… (dance moves too, but he’ll never admit that!)
