It’s right around the corner!
No, not Halloween…

It’s my third year doing NaNoWriMo! If it wasn’t for this community, the entire process and resources, I don’t think you guys would have ever found me.
I’ve been writing books for over 10 years now. None have made it to print… yet.
But in the last three years, I’ve picked up momentum. Style and form took a bit more awareness. I’ve written books in a month. Edited in a three month span. Organization and more of a belief that the world really does want my work, whenever I am ready to share it, became a factor.
In the meantime, I started all the things writers should have… A social media presence, a website, and a vague idea of my branding platform. In all this, I found my community. People to talk to while writing and finding similar problems to work out. Friends on the same journey as me. A family of weirdos who love a good prompt from a place like Characters Hell.
None of this growth would have come the way it has without NaNoWriMo.
So of course I can’t get enough of it! And this year I am doing more new things!
Everyone knows I am a plantser thru and thru… But this year I am new to this story idea’s land, and actually wrote up an outline! I know, totally different than letting the characters drive the bus and only just steering them away from cliffs. Here’s hoping that works…
And one other thing I’ve been up to? Since I am no longer a writing rookie, I have been helping those that reach out to me with their writing projects too. Anyone else notice that difference when they leveled up? That feeling that you knew where they were once, and can help because you have this totally foreign thing called experience.
In under a month, I ruined my friend’s ability to read bad books, simply because they were challenged to see the flaws in their own work. In taking note of that, that inner writer kicked in, and now sees it everywhere else.
So, I may not yet be published in the household name way yet, but I am being a guiding force to others, and finding my voice stronger along the way…
If only I could really truly stick to the new project called “Always the Quiet Ones”. Should be a Women’s Fiction work with Erotic elements. You know, all the darker stuff that never made it into Red Letters.
Then again, Woods has been on my mind… Maybe just one more attempt at a rewrite? For old time’s sake?
But “old time’s sake” is also why it became a four book series, at least at the moment.
Stay tuned my dears, once a plantser, always a plantser lol.
