Returning and Refocusing…

I start this post the way I ended the last one I made to unofficially announce my hiatus. The quote I felt fit a very troublesome time kicking in.

Back then, I thought it would take a month or two at most, and that I would find the words to explain.

Nearly 5 years later to the day, I can finally say that my hiatus is over.

I can’t say that things are perfectly fine again, or that I won’t have some rough patches. There were a lot of hard times, and a lot of growth thanks to new people I met and lost along that journey. I still grieve the absences to this day. I will also keep the promises I made. To my mother, I promised to stay strong and take care of family. I make her proud there. And to the friend that ironically helped me survive the loss of my mother and others before we lost him as well? I promised to never stop trying. That friendship only lasted a few years, but the consistency helped stabilize everything for me. And even a year later, I can still hear him; his voice guiding me, his consistent support every needed day, and most importantly, the weird moments that made him a muse to me.

I never stopped writing.

There were stories I couldn’t complete for a while, others that were full of the feelings, and yet others that are working themselves out into worthy items. I’ve kept trying to hone and better my craft, kept trying to find the right audience for my style. And I’m back to trying to do that again too. I am querying again, as well as working on stories I feel comfortable posting freely.

So, what does the future of this site look like? Besides a redesign of course…

One of the things I enjoyed posting was Music Mondays. Music has always been a source of connection for me. It’s also a great connection to my characters in the first series I wrote, so there’s never a lack of music. But I will have other content to come, that ties in with other projects also. I’ve been branching out from Women’s Fiction slice of life stories to other things in Fantasy and Romance areas. It will be fun to share those projects when the time comes…

In the meantime, I look forward to getting back to the things I enjoyed sharing, and working my way back to talking to my future fans again.
