Music Monday Tweety Style

For weeks now, I have been stuck in my Male Main Character Woods POV trying to find the best moments. I may have jumped into another character voice here or there too, someone newer that I don’t want to spoil yet. But it’s time to listen to Tweety again. She’s our Main Female Character. She’s the POV we see in book one. And she’s never stopped telling the stories of bar life. So what are some of her song titles for chapters where she’s right now?

Tweety is nothing if not emotional. She’s the character driving the character driven story we tell. Is this Cher song strong enough for this moment that Tweety lets loose? No, but it is lyrics that could scream in her veins at the sight of our main love interest.

Emotional Fire – Cher

Tweety’s state of mind tends to be this next song. Though, this song probably is more for one of our current chapter titles, not one of the flashback chapter titles.

I’ll Walk Through The Fire With You – Suzi Quatro

This next one? It’s a call back to some music played in the story (what bar isn’t complete with something music now and again?) But this is one of those songs that describes Tweety as a character. She pretends to be untouchable for a reason, and that reason makes the slow burn of the story feel like fire when it finally hits the way the reader wants it to. Bit like a firework grand finale, that may or may not burn more than just the “barn” down…

Fire Cracker – Josh Turner

This is another WIP call back song, but it’s like the song. The first one Woods heard when they were beginning this game of musical flirting (how else do you flirt with a musician?) Tweety had set it to play like an answer to Woods’ stage song, an answer to his button pushing, but by the time it played? They were somewhere else entirely, and the song just became sass at that point. But it’s a core memory, and a bit of a Tweety life motto.

I Love Playing With Fire – The Runaways

Ain’t Misbehavin feels like a trick song, and probably the one the chapter will get. Why? Because before this bit of chapter, Tweety was very much controlling her misbehaving in a very public way. *cough body shots cough* But, if you’ve gotten to know anything about Tweety by now, it might be the dual nature of her personality. We have bar hostess Tweety, who can perform for the crowds and make it look effortless. And then we have the Tweety that is off duty now and again. The one that has desires that maybe aren’t said out loud. And, where I am in the writing, to her? She was saving her mood for someone special, if they find the moment to let that fire between them ignite in a way neither of them can take back anymore. AKA slow burn pay dirt.

Ain’t Misbehavin’ – Sarah Vaughan
