Sinful Music Monday

Sinful Summer theme continues into this playlist. I’m thinking flirty dirty heat, innuendo spoiling treats, suggested sins to be had since it’s a sweaty season anyway….

And what playlist could I possibly make for sinful sensations without including the very musician that when I see them, I see Woods? That’s Woods, our main male, our walking sinful sort. Mood boards don’t exactly convey swagger and sneering sex appeal the way videos can. So who better to sell us sinful ways than Billy steaming up a screen just talking about the city?

Hot In The City – Billy Idol

And if that makes you feel like finding your way to a sinful little club to get a little wild? That’s the point isn’t it? To find people who make you want to have fun however you define it. That make you feel like being wild for one night is crazy enough, and still safe enough. You’ll see things you don’t think people will believe, but you’re glad you didn’t miss out. Because some of these chaos ring leaders? You don’t know where these ideas come from, only that they were born to be this wild…

Born To Be Wild – Steppenwolf

But what happens if it strikes you too? The wildness, the heat, that sinful someone moving through the space… Summer loves can hit like a heatwave, daring you to feel something else. That thing that you try to fan away, but someone else swears is desire. Your blood pressure is definitely fluttering, ask yourself why… dehydration? Thick humidity making it hard to breathe? Or that pull of attraction that sizzles like summer and breaks when the thunder signals the changing atmosphere?

Love Is Like A Heatwave – Martha and the Vandellas

Maybe you find your person in crime. One of the crazy showy nights involves food, a cheering crowd, and that certain something in the humidity that makes you bold enough to wear less, and react more. Not like you see people actively licking snow in winter. But in summer? Ice cream, chocolate, all the things that melt demand it, sometimes in shockingly unexpected ways.

Ice Cream Man – Van Halen

This last song? Feels very much on the nose for where the books go. I won’t spoil too much, just that summer seems to have the best events and parties, with faces that reappear suddenly. Everyone has that summer that makes unforgettable memories, and choices made that you wonder what might have been if things went differently…
