This week we have Sly and Tweety talking late at night about music… In a month of families, feasts, and inevitably debates. But these two? Oh you would never hear either of them say they fight. Never. Except… Well… What do you call your spirited discussions on your music opinions, readers? Let me know in the comments, these guys could use new words to describe it.
A certain someone (new to the blog world, not new to the bar one) said something about euphemism and it wasn’t really about holding hands… So what else do you do with your wide awake annoyance and a jukebox? Playlists and banter! Tweety and Sly style.
First up, not part of the list, but the song you will need this week, and the song that launched the debates….
I Want To Hold Your Hand – The Beatles
Now, this can go one of two ways. If Tweety is annoyed about someone breaking her illusion, Sly can mention another song that feels more on the nose about love (Something?) Or he can bring up and play another one to break her illusions. “Many people say this one is about cheating…”
Norwegian Wood – The Beatles
“I don’t think about that song like that,” she says moving to pick the next song already, “I think of it as a sitar song, and don’t really know the lyrics that much. I mean, I know them, but it’s a mid level for me. I’m a fan of early Beatles work. Why can’t life be as simple as this?”
I’m Happy Just To Dance With You – The Beatles
“Because the answer to a song like that is also by the Beatles. Used to be one of your favorites back in the day. Nothing is as simple as your romantic brain tries to make it.” The bat bot descends and punches in the next song to play, lyrically challenging Tweety’s point.
You’re Gonna Lose That Girl – The Beatles
“Why do you fight me so? You know this musical game of back and forth can go on forever, beyond the Beatles. Though, I secretly wonder if you’re hanging out in your room in a hammock spinning vinyl to build your cases for these some day debates. Can we at least agree that our night time chats maybe have a theme song?”
Baby’s In Black – The Beatles
“I do not agree to that as our theme song. There are so many other better choices. I do have a VERY logical response to your point about my counter points. You ask why? My answer…” The bat bot dances across the machine and the opening sounds makes Tweety laugh again, proving Sly won once more.
Because – The Beatles
