I know my last posts talk about Hallmark magic and white knight kinda guys, but today? I haven’t forgotten the ones who prefer a guy that makes them laugh more than those slow burn steamy types. I mean, if you’ve been reading here long enough, you’ve seen Deej, right?
If Deej and his jump inside the jukebox ways got a hold of the playlist, before Sly finds him, here’s a sample of the seasonal list. Rodger and Deej have a song for all of the main characters, and you still get to know Deej’s humor too. Spoiler, he’s a bit of a prankster too.
You’d start off with the song to see if you’d be cool. This is like hearing Nira and Deej discuss anything at all. Because Deej would be sure he too knows that guy, no matter what our Cheech like Nira said. And you better believe they both would be explaining Christmas to Rodger the lynx cat, who’d be seated at the same table, very human like and better behaved there too.
Santa Claus And His Old Lady – Cheech And Chong
Then you’ve got the song that Deej would work into the rotation to get Tweety’s attention, maybe with Rodger sent on the mission to get pets from Tweety too. It’s just enough of an ear worm to cause distraction and laughs. Perfect for pestering the bar’s Tweety for sure.
I Tat I Taw Ol’ Tanty Claus – Looney Tunes
After Tweety gives him an earful and threatens his jukebox rights again, begging for real Christmas playlists, Deej would come as close to it as he can manage. The 12 drinks of Christmas is perfect! Totally calls out Collar and those mixed drink wake ups, while also testing Sly’s drink making skills. Sly might give him a look, but Sly doesn’t yell at Deej the way Tweety does. Because it is totally helping to suggest a dozen different drink ideas to a bar full of people. Bonus if they get as messy as the singer and make Sly figure it out. He he he.
The 12 Drinks Of Christmas – Frankie Ford
A song about a zoo? Compromise. Rodger made it clear he wants a hippopotamus for Christmas. Deej suggested that Rodger is a hippo, or at least eats like one. After Deej picked himself off the floor, and Rodger licked his paw as if he didn’t just swipe the stool out from under Deej…. Well, Deej saw some sense and put on the one closest to their origin story. Because a lynx cat hybrid isn’t just a pet, it’s a rescue. Deej thinks he rescued Rodger. That fussy cat will make it clear that he saved Deej from himself and continues to do so. So, instead of a hippo, they can talk about zoos.
Christmas At The Zoo – The Flaming Lips
This last one gets Deej in trouble a lot. Because the crew on the whole keeps trying to take this away from the box, but it’s the one that reminds Deej most of Malta and Frost. Malta thinks it’s funny. Frost does not at all find this funny. And yet, it’s getting a lot of random play in Deej’s playlist, so long as Frost has gone to bed. Deej does a lot of stupid things. But there’s a difference between minor electric shocks from the jukebox and having an actual bodily harm wish at the hands of the giant Scottish man in the kilted skirt…
