Can we talk about characters who genuinely appreciate each other for what they are? Not the she makes me stop and think or the he makes me feel free. That’s the self centered part. I mean the things that you see that others have let go, and you don’t make it about yourself or the attraction.

I think, movie wise, it might be snarky but the end of When Harry Met Sally comes to mind. Things like that confession, even down to the “I love that you get that little crinkle in your forehead when you think I’m crazy” kinda of moment. That’s the kind of appreciation I mean. The details, the big stuff, all the parts that make you, you. And they see that, the good and the bad, and say yes, sign me up, because all those parts I enjoy. It’s not about changing someone or that flaw that you hate, it’s a healthy relationship where you grow in stability, and become better together because you are fully seen.
So yeah, know any characters like that? Healthy appreciation and care? Because I could use a good read, or watch recommendation…
