#FictionFriday Today's skit is brought to you by the letter C, Jello, and side characters only let out on special occasions... Summer heat just makes it harder to keep them inside, as the chaos expands beyond the bar world in my WIP. Sometimes the heat makes you think about your past, or makes you bold enough to do something you might not normally do. This #playlist blames the summer heat... If the book bar had a sign one could read, it might be this. Because the nights? Visuals don't do it justice. You should plan to party hard, or else you will be woefully unaware and in pain the next day... You may or may not become part of the stories that week too... that's how memories are made, whether you want to be remembered for it or not. This #MusicMonday mixes both the Hot Soulful Nights & the Scorching #RedLetters vibes. If pictures on a mood board can tell one story, & the Fiction Friday tells it a different way... Today I can try to let you into my head for another version of the writing process. Because I love a good #playlist to anything I'm working on. And sometimes the short story moments come from a shuffled playlist... #SinfulSummer teaser from my bonus #RedLetters series. The full short story is in the blog, but a couple lines are here for #FictionFriday Feeling like a #SinfulSummer #playlist was needed this week. The past few week's #writing tensions need a good release, even if the characters don't get one yet... What makes a character memorable. Is it something shocking they do? A rare tenderness? A wit or charm that sticks with you after the pages end? #ThoughtfulThursday The writing snippets today are from two flash fictions in my book world from our slow burn mains. His side? "Neutral, honestly real but non committal. I thought I aced that pop quiz. The face on Remmy in the other booth told me I failed somehow." Her side? "Trouble with memories was that as much as I hated him now? There was a time when I couldn’t get enough of that handsome face too. I just had to set about controlling this new round of complications thanks to his fame and my bar’s name first." So, #ThoughtfulThursday Is it because you are visible that it's harder? Or are the hard parts reported on and made visible for you? What does it cost you to let other people into your (love) story like that? June is our month to talk about visibility on a bigger scale. I do that with the characters in #RedLetters rock band, who found success along the way, but it's not a clean walk away. Something is left unresolved, and that? That makes an arc, but it also leads to today's questions. I doubled up because it feels like they go together better than if I asked each one alone.
