Music Monday Media

This month feels like a Woods character thing, and because it looks like I had an issue posting, I’m giving two weeks of playlists in one. So, it’s an in-depth character tour by music, which is Woods to the core. Even if he wouldn’t admit some of these songs fit.

First up is our Career Woods kind of playlist.

Who he is, both musically and energy? His band started playing AC/DC and the Crue as demos. And let’s face it, an opening lyric like this? practically a visual character description in song form. 100% Woods style.

Demon Fire – AC/DC

Ask him about the band? the jokesters might play this song to describe their lead singer, that guy who is too full of himself, and opposite Woods. Woods is your natural leader who’s quiet and second lead in the band. But their proclaimed leader is that type that reminds you of a bad 80s hair metal sort of lead. The rest of the band is cool, the lead singer is a bit out there in that tension but not really fighting way. You sometimes are uncomfortable, other times he’s a good friend, or at least pretends to be…

In Love With A Camera – The Struts

What’s a rock star to do when he finally gets his dream career, but it’s not the full package he was hoping for? It’s catchy, but it also asks the question will we still be something if fame happens anyway. Do you get to be in love and a star too? Or do you pick one or the other?

Famous – Nathan Sykes

Another catchy rock riff, that captures that feeling, of being famous and having your own issues. That you should have everything you want because you have the fame but money isn’t everything, and money can’t buy the things you miss deep in your heart.

Scarecrows – One Bad Son

What do you do with what you can’t fix? Musicians and writers alike write their feelings out, putting emotions onto the page, making people feel things they feel. And this? This song is what it feels like in the back of his head when he’s writing rock music with the band. There may also be comments that the best songs he has have something to do with someone they don’t talk about much anymore. Because some wounds never heal, but they are the best you ever sing about.

Best I’ll Ever Sing – Maisie Peters

And now for the second playlist about Woods, if the last one was his career mostly, this one is about the man himself.

As much as Woods falls into the typical musician, he’s not into the hard stuff, just some drinking. People, the crowds, that’s what he lives on. And it all started with one person in particular, the one they don’t want to name on the road. Some habits don’t get broken, you just survive another day without it.

My Drug – Anthony Mossberg

Keeping connections on the road isn’t great, especially when you were fumbling through it all when you were right there in front of that person. Good luck, or charisma? Something has to help bridge the gap, and time gave this British sounding musician with looks compared to Billy Idol some extra skills that should be impossible to forget. He’s aiming to make you tongue tied now, same as the first time we meet him in the Red Letters book.

Tongue Tied – Faber Drive

But with his fame? It’s either not that deep, or if it is, he needs to know… Because there are people after him for his fame and his abilities, not the man himself who wants a forever long before he was signed.

Are You In It For Love – Ricky Martin

The problem is, his heart is back at the start, moments held like still frames. And don’t be fooled, the man with tattoos that tell stories? He’s got a box in his closet of a past he can’t let go of but also doesn’t fully live in it. If you need proof, you should ask Remmy, his current bodyguard, what the deal is with that Camaro and who really gets to drive it. Because legal and memories don’t mix like you might think. And moving on isn’t always clean.

Still Frames – Caroline Kole

Love isn’t simple, and Woods can tell you how deep this hits, but you see it in his actions more. And his love story? Years. Can you say second chance romance story line? You also get to see him before he is famous, in the Red Letters series I am working on. You see his ways in plenty of Friday Fictions. He’s a wicked man, but in the best ways…

This Is Us – Jimmie Allen & Noah Cyrus
