Spotlights, Music Monday, and Cover Control

Spotlights shine lights on features, while controlling the cover story hopes you don’t notice some things. Both are important if you are a (fictional) celebrity, trying to have a personal life while being recognized often. So today’s playlist highlights some lesser sung about body features and why it’s alluring. Or the choice is about covering for something. After all, there’s only so many times and ways a baseball hat will protect your identity as a disguise, right?

We start with an ode to the windows of the soul, and often the first point of connection. And a song that suggests marriage on that alone? How one can see through to the truth and also look proper but not be as innocent and suggested? That’s not just an easy love choice, that’s something with depth and potentially lasts a long time.

Marry Those Eyes – MKTO

This one has a desire thread, of nerves and wants. And the want listed isn’t the curve of a hip or a rounded elsewhere, it’s your clavicle. It’s a quick and catchy little song if I do say so myself.

Clavicle – Alkaline Trio

For this one, it’s more than what attracts, it’s a feeling of destiny. Of there isn’t anything that will keep us apart. And that? That’s something inside both mains, but it’s a conflict in Woods more. That if I am meant to be with someone, why aren’t we thing.

Meant To Be – Stanaj

And the mood that answers such a question is here, likely something Woods might write for the band. That why did it happen and I wish I hadn’t done it, even if I can’t stop saying nice things about her still.

Perfect – My Darkest Days

This one feels like the essence of the band man having a personal life, doesn’t it? That you could be important, but sometimes you’re also just the guy with that girl. That not everything starts with the fame problem first.

A Guy With A Girl – Blake Shelton
